Mother’s Day is one of my favorite holidays not just because I get spoiled rotten by my family, but because I can reflect on the joys that motherhood brings. Being a mom is truly the best and hardest thing I have ever done.  Taking care of my family and running a business is never easy and some days I feel like I’m failing, but I wouldn’t be where I am today without my kids. They are my inspiration and motivation for all that I do in life.  You can read about how my kids inspired me to start my business over at the Shop Small Fort Worth blog.

On a daily basis, moms juggle a million tasks at once. That is no newsflash but it’s worth acknowledging. So much is demanded of you and at times it can be overwhelming but the rewards make it all worth it! I recently hosted a Mother’s Day giveaway with Shop Small Fort Worth and I got to read why many of you in our Fort Worth community love being a mom despite the hardships it can bring. Here’s what some of the moms shared:

“Being a mom has allowed me to experience joy even in the most trying seasons, and to relish moments right as they happen. My son has taught me to be a better person in so many ways.”

“What I love about being a mom? Wiping their tears, extra bedtime snuggles, giving them bubble baths, kissing boo boos, washing baseball uniforms and watching them play together outside.”

“I love being a mom on some days simply for the moments they say “I love you” or wrap their arms alive my neck for an unexpected hug.”

“You never retire from being a mom. I have loved every stage my children wen through and some were definitely more enjoyable than others. Now that they are adults and on their own my favorite time is listening and learning from them. It is a priceless treasure as a parent.”

” I love that my 12 year old daughter enjoys baking and helping me cook and I get to hear how to eat healthy and non-processed foods!!! Most of the time, because she’s still a kid.”

“I love being a mom because I am able to see the world through the eyes of a child again. I also love watching my son learn and grow every single day!”

As you can tell we have some amazing moms here in Fort Worth who are truly inspiring!

One gift that I know a lot of these moms would like is to have meals already prepared for them so they can have a much needed break from the daily demands of feeding their family. I know as a young mom who had a kid with special dietary needs, cooking was not always easy, especially because I was working as a physical therapist at the time.

Sometimes it’s just nice to have someone else make you a gourmet meal that you didn’t have to slave over while simultaneously changing stinky diapers and helping your kids with their homework.

You can purchase a Savor gift certificate for mom for any of our services. So what are waiting for? Treat mom to something luxurious this year like our customized meals that get delivered right to your fridge! Or if you’re reading this and you’re a mom, go ahead and treat yourself, you deserve it!

From one mom to another, I hope you have a very happy Mother’s Day this weekend and feel especially loved and appreciated for all that you do!
