Halloween can be every mom’s nightmare not just because it’s a holiday that’s centered around candy, but if your child has allergies of any kind, it can be a battle to know which candies are safe for your little pumpkin.
That’s why I’ve created a gluten-free guide to Halloween candy. Please note: These candies are considered “gluten free” based on U.S. Manufacturers but ALWAYS check the label just to be safe! Most manufacturers will usually note when something contains wheat, barley, oats etc, or has been cross-contaminated with another product. Labels are your friend!
If your child is allergic to dairy these candies are considered vegan:
- Airheads Taffy
- Dum Dums
- Wonka Bottle Caps
- Cry Babies
- Dots
- Fireballs
- Fruit by the Foot
- Fun Dip
- Hubba Bubba Bubble Gum
- Jolly Ranchers (lollipops and hard candy)
- Some varieties of Laffy Taffy
- Wonka Pixy Stix
- Skittles
- Smarties
- Sour Patch Kids
- Wonka Spooky Nerds
- Starbursts Minis
- Swedish Fish
- Wonka Sweet Tarts
- Twizzlers
- Pez
- Red Vines
And if you are really cautious (like most moms are, believe me I understand!) then these are 6 allergen-friendly candies you really can’t go wrong with: (just watch for food dyes that your child might be allergic to)
- Dubble Bubble Chewing Gum
- Fun Dip
- Lifesavers Gummies Spooky Shapes
- Nerds
- Smarties
- Starbursts
